Enhancing peer to peer engagement

In the month of July, Yunitokers from the Kenya Scouts Association (KSA) visited the Global Hope Rehabilitation and Rescue Center in Ngong town. The Global Hope Rehabilitation and Rescue Center rehabilitates young boys living in poverty and struggling with drug addiction. The team of Yunitokers organized a football tournament in Ngong that concluded with a discussion encouraging young people to register on the Yunitok platform.

Brian Agaziva (24), a Scout and Yunitok champion says, "I believe that youth are change-makers and the likelihood of us listening to one another is higher because we get the opportunity to explore new things and learn by sharing experiences."

Adolescence is a time of change as children transition to adulthood. During this transition, young people are more comfortable speaking with their peers rather than parents or adults. Peer-to-peer engagement allows young people to work through challenges and explore new concepts and ideas with their peers and learn from each other fostering meaningful connections.

“I was amazed by the drive those young people have. As we mingled, they kept asking about how they can benefit from engagement through the Yunitok platform and mentioning the forthcoming entrepreneurial training made them really excited.” Says Jefferson Mwadime, a Yunitoker and Scout.
